Our artistic endeavours
Botanical art refers to artworks whose primary purpose is to show the plant in a way that is visually appealing. Botanical illustration refers to representations that are created for scientific use. Both forms endeavour to reveal a plant’s morphological structure such as the arrangement of reproductive parts, leaves, and stems with a three dimensional quality. Artistic licence is freely taken within the bounds of scientific accuracy.
Original art work
Original art work is painted in water colour, with many layers to leverage the translucent pigments creating vibrant works with very fine detail.
Most paintings are produced on Arches Hot Pressed 300 gsm water colour paper.
Paintings with black backgrounds are created on Saunders Waterford 640gsm paper.
Limited edition prints
Fine art prints are produced in small editions on the best acid free, museum quality papers.
Each print is embossed and numbered by the artist. Certificates of authenticity are provided with every print.
Greeting cards
Blank greeting cards are available in different designs and sizes. They are blank in the centre for you to write your own personal message and come with quality envelopes, placed in crystal clear, acid free packaging.
